Come experience our unique twist on quilting education and entertainment!

The Quilt Festival has teamed up with Shipshewana Scott Elementary and its PTO to bring you a day of quilting "edutainment".

Where else than the local elementary school itself would you enjoy such an opportunity!

Your schoolhouse registration will include a gourmet box lunch.

Tango QuiltYour day of learning will begin at 10 am and is organized into 9 (nine), 30-minute class sessions running until 4 pm. With multiple subjects taught simultaneously, you will have endless opportunities to learn about the hottest new tools, techniques and technology.

Your classes will start and end with actual school bells!

Each session is held in its own classroom with presentations by a variety of nationally and locally known educators, artists and entertainers, including Ricky Tims and Darlene Zimmerman.

Class topics are divided into three types:

  • Educational topics will cover the fundamentals of quilting
  • Technique sessions will show you different approaches to creating your projects
  • Product classes will demonstrate how the latest notions and tools can make your quilting easier and more accurate

Your schoolhouse booklet will list the full selection of classes, including times, instructors and topics. In the booklet there will also be a page to help you plan you day. With so much to learn and the flexibility to chose the topics when they best fit your schedule, we have left the timing of a lunch break up to you.

To prepare for your action packed day, you must pick up your Schoolhouse Booklet at the registration desk in the Shipshewana Town Center. This may be done beginning on Tuesday June 19th at 12 noon and must be done prior to attendance on Thursday June 21st.

Please note: the booklet is not available prior to Festival.
